Buddy has come to visit us
for two weeks while his owners are on holiday. He is a
pleasure to be around and we all enjoy having him here. Andy
and Val have reared and trained him beautifully.
Sadly Yaala is in season so at
the moment Buddy is not able to spend time with his litter sister.
He is however enjoying
being out and about with the other dogs, which includes trips to the
beach and also a local lake.

Today the dogs enjoyed a walk
through the RSPB Reserve at Titchwell and along the beach to Brancaster.
Although Buddy is not our dog
he is very well behaved and I am confident to let him off lead as his
recalls are excellent.
All of our dogs have been
taught not to chase other animals, including flocks of birds, especially
on a beach due to the long distances they can cover. Buddy proved
to be as well behaved as the girls
Clever Boy!
Buddy on the move! The
beach is a good place to watch a dogs movement and also check their
footprints for placement of their feet.
Muscles are found in abundance
on certain parts of the beach.
Happiness is.........
The dogs enjoyed playing in a
fast flowing channel of water.
There is lots to see on the
beach.
The walk to and from the beach
included close encounters with lots of bird-watchers - but the dogs have
learnt to ignore people unless given permission to say "hello" - which
makes life easier when there is lots of expensive equipment around and
narrow paths to navigate!
We have recently bought a
"Golden Retriever Taxi" - a car whose sole purpose is to transport the
dogs on their adventures and "save" our family car from sand, mud, water
and dog hair! A very old VW Golf is proving to be perfect for the
job and the dogs seem to approve!
Today we had four dogs in the
car, but once we have a dog guard installed there will be room for six.
9th October 2009
Today we went on a new walk
recommended by a friend - it took us some time to find the location but
Buddy did not seem to mind exploring!
Dog-heaven!
Buddy soon found something to
play with while the girls enjoyed the water.
"Are we home yet?"
"Not sure I cannot see a thing!"
14th October 2009
Buddy is enjoying his holiday
- it is a "Home from Home" experience.
Changing the bedding is a time
to have some fun!
Buddy was the smallest of the
dog puppies but has developed in to a very masculine-looking dog.
He is very gentle and loving -
with a tail which wags non-stop. He has impeccable manners and is
becoming a favourite of Colin's.
He has discovered one of the
best dog seats in the house - bird spotting can be done to advantage
from the bedroom window.
16th October 2009
Today Summer went to the lake
with two of her sons - Benson, her singleton puppy, and Buddy.
Watch and learn boys!
While the boys enjoyed rough
and tumble Summer simply enjoyed the water.
Benson relaxing at the waters
edge.
20th October 2009
Today the dogs and I ventured
down to Brancaster just after high tide. The beach was deserted.
Looking back towards
Brancaster and Titchwell

Staithe.
Freedom!
Buddy enjoyed pulling on
an old rope buried deep into the sand......
.....and digging and
digging.....
He enjoys playing with Aasha.
Bath time!
Home tomorrow = bath!
"Am I going in there?"
This was Buddy's first time
wearing a dry coat - he did not look impressed!
After the initial rolling
around.....
.....life carried on as usual
- enjoying his supper with Yaala.

Buddy
went home to Andy and Val today - we are going to miss him as he has
been a wonderful house guest. He is a credit to Andy and Val
who are very committed and loving owners.
Buddy
has enjoyed a walk on the beach with Andy and Val today and life
will carry on for him as before, which will include watching his
favourite nature programmes on TV!
January 2009
Buddy
enjoyed another short break with us. As usual we all really
enjoyed having him here as he is such a gentle dog and slots in with
the family so easily. He enjoyed daily walks with the girls
and Yaala really enjoyed having her "big brother" around.
Enjoying
a trim.
"A
dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes.
Status symbol means nothing to him. A waterlogged stick will do just
fine. A dog judges others not by their colour or creed or class but
by who they are inside. A dog doesn't care if you are rich or poor,
educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he
will give you his".
