SHOW NEWS

Although I enjoy attending shows, I am by my own admission not a keen participant, and much prefer to sit ringside.  I find it extremely difficult to handle one dog on a lead in such a confined space with so many onlookers and I am much happier working with all of my dogs off lead in an open field!  Despite this I do hope to persevere thanks to the encouragement and advice of friends as and when time allows.

       

 

 

I am looking forward to watching the progress of Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - Amber to her friends (pictured below).  She is owned by Dave (Mannings) of Gatchells.  Amber has a wonderful life with Dave and we wish him lots of luck with Amber, and her friend Lace - 'Gatchells Silver Lace'.

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Special Yearling; 1st Graduate; 1st Open Bitch Best Opposite Sex and Reserve Best of Breed   Amber has now gained her Junior Warrant (and Stud Book Number   which qualifies her for Crufts for life) "Thank You"....... David for taking such good care of Amber and showing her to perfection.  With the exception of the GRC Championship Show all of Amber's points have been gained at in the West Country which means Amber has not been travelling far and wide in the quest for Junior Warrant points. Jenny Newton and 'Joeka'. Julie and Jan Merrick (Stormerick). All of David's friends who have been so supportive. The judges who have thought so highly of Amber.  "And not forgetting"....... Amber's achievements would not have been possible without Yvette (Mannings), who gave me so much honest and practical advice from the day Libby arrived.  This included the choice of stud dog for the litter and rearing the puppies in a way which ensured they had the best possible start.

Covered the ground with a good length of stride."

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - it was a special moment for me to watch Amber at Crufts.   She was handled by Julie Merrick (Stormerick).  Despite not being quite in her best dress Amber was short-listed in a quality Yearling Class of 26. Below is a video clip of Amber and Julie (wearing red trousers);  Amber's friend Lace was also in the class being handled by Dave.  Lace gained a Reserve place. Kendaamber Limited Edition - 1st Puppy Dog;  Best Puppy Dog Teddy qualifies for Crufts 2012 "Delighted with depth of quality of entry throughout the classes resulting in many deserving dogs being unrewarded on the day.  As always I endeavour to look for overall balance, good construction and sound movement that should be the attribute of a gundog.  Heads gave me cause for concern, even taking into account differing type and personal preference.  A number do not now conform to the Standard in that they lacked balance, were not well chiselled, eyes were incorrectly shaped and failed to give a kindly expression.  I was delighted that my final line up, suffice to say, all moved with excellent reach and drive. Puppy (12) 1st.  Kendaamber Limited Edition - very well balanced, excellent construction, head well balanced with dark expressive eyes, a quality youngster who was sympathetically handled to show his many attributes, in excellent coat, sound accurate mover, would not like to see any more weight at this stage." I have included very valid opening remarks along with Teddy's critique - and the fact he will now be having his weight watched prior to Crufts.     :o)

Kendaamber Limited Edition and Kendaamber Indian Summer Indi, being handled by Marcus in a quality class of 21 bitch puppies.  This was the first time they had been together in the show ring - I was with Teddy and I was grateful Marcus offered to handle her for me.  She looked lovely free standing and wagging for him.  Indi decided to sit down just after these photos were taken but Marcus held it together under pressure.     Thank you Marcus! Teddy was short-listed in a lovely class of 13 dog puppies.  He behaved impeccably for me and I am very proud of him.  Getting ready at the table...... ......being judged...... ......waiting patiently...... In super coat and condition, full of personality and showing herself off so well.  CC & BOB."

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Limit Bitch Amber went on to win her second CC "I was delighted with this quality entry of almost 200 bitches.  Presentation was excellent and temperament of dogs impeccable!  My final line-up was breath-taking and the quality obvious for all to see, I was splitting hairs. Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - I have admired her from the ringside in the past but have never seen her in better form.  She just oozes quality.  Totally balanced, perfectly proportioned and in beautiful profuse pale coat she could not be denied top honours.  Feminine head with lovely expression, good length of neck, text book shoulders, good front with excellent bone and feet.  Mature body with good spring of rib, level topline, short strong loin and correct tailset, excellent hindquarters with good width and let down hocks.  Never let her handler down, both standing and moving.  CC"

Bertie's main aim in life is as a mud monster - but he occasionally puts on his best clothes and enjoys a day out at a show. Here he is at Crufts enjoying his day out.  As a country dog being at Crufts was a very different experience - but he simply did what he does best and wagged his way through the day! On the move....and wagging!   Waiting patiently - still wagging! Being judged.....not stopped yet!   "I can even smile and wag!"
