SHOW NEWS

Although I enjoy attending shows, I am by my own admission not a keen participant, and much prefer to sit ringside.  I find it extremely difficult to handle one dog on a lead in such a confined space with so many onlookers and I am much happier working with all of my dogs off lead in an open field!  Despite this I do hope to persevere thanks to the encouragement and advice of friends as and when time allows.

       

 

 

I am looking forward to watching the progress of Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - Amber to her friends (pictured below).  She is owned by Dave (Mannings) of Gatchells.  Amber has a wonderful life with Dave and we wish him lots of luck with Amber, and her friend Lace - 'Gatchells Silver Lace'.

Gatchells Edge of Heaven - 3rd Post Graduate We were very pleased with Libby's place - due to maternal duties and a house move she has not been shown since early 2008.  She has also qualified for Crufts 2010.

One of the highlights of the year for me is the Golden Retriever Club Championship Show - it is such an enjoyable day. Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Junior Bitch Amber won Junior Bitch - there were 21 bitches present in the class.   Most importantly she is a very happy girl who enjoys her days out with Dave and the other Gatchells girls. Photo courtesy of Anne Fanning Below is Amber's critique: "Beautiful bitch from any angle and very well shown and presented.  Correct angulation fore and aft, deep through the heart, short in the loin, in super coat and condition.  Moved with drive from her super quarters with good carriage, destined for top honours in the future." Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Junior Bitch Below is Amber's critique: "This youngster was another beautiful bitch who caught my eye both moving and standing, beautifully balanced throughout, lovely head and expression with excellent reach of neck, good shoulder placement with excellent layback of upper arm, good body and well bent stifles, strong quarters with very neat hocks, moved well and with drive, considered her for top honours but had to give way on maturity.  Am sure her big day will come."

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Junior Bitch Below is Amber's critique: "Lovely pale bitch who stood out, full of quality, not overdone in any way, gentle expression, well balanced, excellent construction overall and her powerful quarters enabled her to move with drive.  Good quality bone and very well presented and handled, a very promising bitch."

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Special Yearling; 1st Graduate; 1st Open Bitch Best Opposite Sex and Reserve Best of Breed   Amber has now gained her Junior Warrant (and Stud Book Number   which qualifies her for Crufts for life) "Thank You"....... David for taking such good care of Amber and showing her to perfection.  With the exception of the GRC Championship Show all of Amber's points have been gained at in the West Country which means Amber has not been travelling far and wide in the quest for Junior Warrant points. Jenny Newton and 'Joeka'. Julie and Jan Merrick (Stormerick). All of David's friends who have been so supportive. The judges who have thought so highly of Amber.  "And not forgetting"....... Amber's achievements would not have been possible without Yvette (Mannings), who gave me so much honest and practical advice from the day Libby arrived.  This included the choice of stud dog for the litter and rearing the puppies in a way which ensured they had the best possible start.

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Junior Bitch Below is Amber's critique: Dream of a class packed with quality. It may be a cliché but I really did need more cards. This beautiful young lady just had that extra bloom, well presented in very pretty pale gold coat, she teems with quality. Well proportioned head with super pigmentation & alert expression, well off for bone, with super angles, good reach of neck & level topline & tailset. Covered the ground with a good length of stride.

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - 1st Yearling Bitch Below is Amber's critique: Super class.   Short coupled bitch of correct proportions and balance.  Lovely neck, straight front and rear, feet, topline and angled quarters, appealed greatly, moved out well from all views.

Kendaamber Evita at Gatchells - it was a special moment for me to watch Amber at Crufts.   She was handled by Julie Merrick (Stormerick).  Despite not being quite in her best dress Amber was short-listed in a quality Yearling Class of 26. Below is a video clip of Amber and Julie (wearing red trousers);  Amber's friend Lace was also in the class being handled by Dave.  Lace gained a Reserve place.
