Blake's
owners Roy and Gill visited the puppies today. As yet we have still
to decide which little girl to keep. It is a difficult
decision as the puppies are so similar! The boys have now been
matched to their families - every family picked a different boy and
all got their first choice.
The
puppies have been wormed again today - this time in tablet form
which they took very easily.
Below
is a video clip of the puppies at six weeks - even though they enjoy
rough and tumble with each other they have learnt that puppy teeth
and humans do not meet and they are very gentle. They did seem
to wonder what the camcorder was!

We have
been spending time with the puppies individually so they get used to
being away from their brothers and sisters. We spend this time
playing games and short bursts of "training". Below is a clip
of Charlie (Mr Green) showing how easy it is to sit and stand.
Pieces of cheese are used to help "mark" the positions - in this
case a sit and a stand.
It takes
around an hour to give each puppy five minutes of individual
attention but we feel it is well worth the time and effort.
The
puppies have now had their first experience of travelling in a car
and of the outside world. Libby was with them to give them
reassurance and they were not phased at all. Rather than split
the puppies we decided to keep all eleven together.

Today we
have reached a decision regarding which puppy to keep with the help
and advice of friends. Picking a puppy with "potential" is
luck of the draw but we are very happy with our choice.
Miss
Yellow will be staying here with us - her pet name has yet to be
decided but her registered name will be Kendaamber Miss Sunshine.
She is a
very pretty puppy who, along with her litter mates, is very calm and
gentle.
Last
night the puppies were micro-chipped, and this morning the puppies
have been vet checked and all were given "a clean bill of health".
Both these happened at home, in an environment and with people they
are familiar with.
As with
the boys, every family who chose a girl also got their first choice.
The
puppies are now officially as follows:
Mr
Green - Charlie -
Kendaamber Mister Happy
Mr
Red - Storm - Kendaamber
Mister Mischief
Mr
Blue - Buddy -
Kendaamber Mister Daydream
Mr
Gold - Henry -

Mr
Turquoise - Chester -

Mr
Black - Gus - Kendaamber Mister
Funny
Miss

Miss

Miss
Orange - Elsie -

Today
the puppies have all had a shower and been dried with the hairdryer
for the first time - they did not mind.
Three of
the puppies leave us this weekend - Charlie, Bracken and Izzy.
This is the hardest part for us but we know they all have lovely
homes waiting.
Today we
have taken photos of the puppies as this is the last time they will
all be together. We were hoping to take some group photos
outside but the weather made this impossible.
We have
decided to call our puppy Yaala.

Last
night the puppies and I enjoyed the evening together as a "family"
for the last time. Eight of them decided to fall asleep around
me - it was a good excuse not to tackle the pile of ironing!
Bracken
left us first this morning - she will be living with Nick, Leanne, Lauryn
and Reece in Derbyshire. Bracken has a lovely home - Reece and
Lauryn are very well behaved and we know they will all take great
care of her.
This
afternoon Charlie left us - he will be living with Jan in
Staffordshire. All the goodbyes are hard but this was the hardest
goodbye as Charlie was very similar to Benson (pictured below left),
Summer's singleton puppy who now lives with friends in
Hertfordshire.
This
morning we enjoyed some time "quiet time" with Charlie.
Charlie
will have a wonderful life with Jan and we wish them many years of
companionship and fun.

Today
Izzy has left us to start her new life with the Sherwood family in
Sheffield (photo to follow). We wish them lots of happiness
and fun with Izzy, who has a very special home.
The rest
of the puppies have enjoyed the day playing and spending time
together.
Teddy
and friends - Henry, Buddy and Yaala.......
.......and Gus!
Having fun in the kitchen.
Hello
there Gus!
With two
wet noses things don't stay clean for long - thanks Chester and
Buddy!
Chester
and Morgan under the table.
The puppies
like to carry things - this is Elsie carrying a cardboard tube.
She was soon
joined by Henry.....
.....and
Buddy!
The puppies
enjoy chewing durable toys - this is Storm.
Morgan.
Yaala.
It seems
very strange to now only have eight puppies as I have been counting
to eleven so much for the last six weeks!
The
puppies no longer feed from Summer at all so she has started going
out for walks with the other dogs again - we will build this up
gradually over the coming weeks. She has had short periods of
exercise each day which she has enjoyed but it is now time for her
to regain her figure and enjoy being out with "the pack" again!
She has been an outstanding mum and her devotion to her puppies has
been amazing to watch - even when she had mastitis she continued to
care for her puppies with the same enthusiasm. She has really
enjoyed the "meet and greet" aspect - and families and friends who
have come to see the puppies have been met with a big smile, wagging
tail and on some occasions lots to say as she is a "talker" - and
she has won lots of hearts along the way. She seemed very
proud to show visitors her family.
I will
include a video clip tomorrow of the remaining puppies at seven
weeks.
Updates
from Bracken and Charlie - both travelled well (both had journeys of
around four hours) and fell asleep soon into the journey, and have
settled well in their new homes.
