to play the video clip of Libby and her puppies at three weeks old.
This video clip was taken this afternoon.
It shows the puppies feeding from a plate for the first time.
It is a messy procedure until they get used to it but they did well
for their first attempt. After their porridge they had their
dessert from the milk bar!
The puppies
enjoy having visitors in the pen for short visits between sleep!
This is Mr
Green with Jonathan.
What's that?
Can I eat it?

The puppies
have had visits from family and friends over the past few days which
they have enjoyed.
As it has
been warm here today we decided to let the puppies have their first
experience of the outside world. They really enjoyed
themselves! They will gradually spend more time outside as and
when the weather allows over the coming weeks.
It did not
take them long to venture from the basket.

Quality time.
Andy, our
eldest son, is home for weekend leave. It is the first time he has
seen the puppies.
The puppies
have spent some time in the fresh air again today. They have their
own 'playhouse' too.

Today a new addition
joined the puppies in the nursery in the form of a baby bird.
This was found by some friends, who have asked us to take care of it
while they are away on holiday. As a child, I spent many happy
weekends at my grandparents farm, where I helped to hand rear many
animals - from lambs, piglets, calves and baby birds. All
being well our visitor will continue to thrive. At the
moment feeds are taking place every hour throughout the day.
Make-shift incubator - cat
carrier and light blub!
Feed me
please! Cat food is the simplest way to feed a baby bird.
The
puppies day has been taken up with eating, playing and sleeping in
the garden - where they have spent most of the day!
