Although all of the puppies
are very special to us and we are very proud of them Buddy holds a
special place in my heart.......
Buddy
left us on 12th December to start his life with
with Ann and Ray Simmons in East Riding. Sadly a few days after
Buddy's arrival Ann's mum was taken ill, and with a long-term
recovery predicted the heart-breaking decision was made to return
Buddy to us.
Buddy came back on 23rd
December. Summer and Yaala were very pleased to see him and he
soon made himself at home again.
Due to
timing and to avoid phone calls from people looking for a puppy for
Christmas we made the decision to rehome him once all the
festivities had finished and not to update his page until a home had
been agreed. This also gave us time to assess him - and it
soon became very apparent he is a very calm and biddable puppy and
that Ann and Ray had dedicated a lot of time to him. We had
two possibilities (one of which was for him to be an assistance dog)
but by the time the New Year had arrived Buddy had made such an
impact on us that the thought of him going too far away was
unbearable and so the decision was made to rehome him locally.
Buddy
and Yaala were inseparable during his stay and enjoyed playing and
watching TV together.
Having
two puppies the same age can be hard work and we would never sell
two littermates for this reason. Thankfully their manners
remained the same with everyone in the family.
Buddy
also enjoyed spending time with the other dogs - here he is sharing
a bone with Aasha - another house rule here!
Summer
and Buddy enjoyed a quiet morning together on the day he left -
Summer was as dedicated to Yaala and Buddy on this day as she was
from the day they were born.
On 13th
January Buddy went to live with Andy and Val in a neighbouring
village and we know they will all be very happy together.
Buddy has been enrolled at a local training class and as with the
other puppies we will enjoy hearing about his progress.
On
17th February Buddy passed his Good Citizen Puppy Foundation after
just five weeks training - this is especially worthy of merit as he
had only been with Andy and Val for such a short period of time.

March 2009
Buddy
came to visit us for the day. Yaala was very pleased to see
her "partner in crime" again.
In true
sibling fashion they always want what the other one has!

Yaala and Aasha
Below is a video clip of
Buddy and Yaala. Even though they have been apart for some
time they still remembered the "no fighting" command they had been
taught as very small puppies. Although the puppies are allowed
to have rough and tumble we like to be able to manage this to ensure
they do not put unnecessary strain on their joints.
Buddy is
a very gentle, happy dog with a tails which wags non-stop. He is doing very well at training
and is simply adored by Andy and Val.

Today we
met Buddy for a walk in some local woods. I have seen Buddy at
home, where he is always very well behaved but was even more
impressed seeing him off lead on a walk. His recalls are superb for such
a young puppy - even when there is the temptation of mud! As
well as meeting other dogs (including the very elderly Golden shown
in the video clip) he also saw a toddler in a pushchair and
a horse and his reaction to all (or lack of it) was superb.

Today we
met Buddy for a walk at Sea Palling beach with Libby, Yaala and
Aasha.
As well
as meeting other dogs they also caused interest to a seal off shore.
